The founders of Technoplex have been involved in advocacy for more than $7 billion of approved transportation projects in Southern California, and the approval of the $20 billion Proposition 1B.

At the state and federal level, Technoplex is active in legislative initiatives to support national goods movement. William Lyte of Technoplex, Inc. is board member and Technology Chair of the California Marine and Intermodal Transportation System Advisory Council (CALMITSAC).

CALMITSAC was established by the California Legislature in 2003 to be a unifying group for goods movement. Board members include state and federal transportation and regulatory agencies, railroads, unions, shippers, and environmental organizations.

In Southern California, Technoplex, Inc. is active in the Harbor Association of Industry and Commerce (HAIC). This is a major industrial association whose members include the ports, petroleum, utility, railroad, shipping and engineering industry.

Technoplex, Inc., in association with Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, conceptualized and drafted “green port provisions” to the U.S. Senate version of the federal Climate Bill. CALMITSAC is now the organization involved in presentation of these provisions to legislators and industry stakeholders.

Among the provisions would be incentives to for green technology investment at ports and associated intermodal routes, a certification system for green technologies and processes, expedited processes for approval of port projects incorporating green measures, and associated financing mechanisms.

Technoplex is active in regional, state and federal policy for ports and goods movement.
